Many of the pieces in Betty Miller’s portfolio are concerned
with the human condition ranging widely from traditional portraiture
to humorous, quirky observations. Subjects include portraits for many
celebrated names of the twentieth century and pieces that smile on
the quirkiness of human activity – fat ladies bathing, stoical
people fishing from a tall pier or caravaners heading west, bumper
to bumper and picnicking by the roadside.
Betty is equally experienced and expert when working with
clay, bronze, resin/bronze, terra-cotta, stoneware and ceramic. Some
pieces are mixed media constructions; she also carves in stone or wood.
Betty’s work varies in size from small gallery pieces to large
garden sculptures.
